Leslie Leland, businesswoman and music industry executive is excited to be a member of the Host Committee for the Roy 2010 fundraiser for former Atlanta Governor Roy Barnes. Jerry Gray, The former Deputy Chief of Staff is hosting the event. Jerry was responsible for initiating the Mentor Protégé Program; this program was paramount in the effort to ensure that minority businesses in Georgia are guaranteed a percentage of all contracts that come through the State of GA given that there is no Minority Contract Clause in the Georgia Legislature. The event will take place on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Overlook in the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA. The event will be held from 6 to 8 pm. As founder and President of Us Girlz Entertainment, Leland is no stranger to hard work and perseverance. Under her leadership, Us Girlz became the first all female executive marketing and promotions company to implement and cultivate marketing strategies that would produce the first African- American female country music singer to land on the billboard charts in 20 years. Leslie will use utilize this same work ethic and determination that has helped make her career so successful to help the former Governor regain his position.
