But building a set of six pack abs seem to be so much easier to attain. Just because you are skinny, it does not mean that your six pack abs will be automatically present and prominently displayed. It's one thing to be skinny and have a great abdominal definition (the six pack abs, of course!) and quite another to be skinny and have nothing to show for it. That would be insult on injury. If you want to have six pack abs, you will have to train for it. You don't expect your biceps to grow on their own do you? So, why would you expect that your six pack abs can do that? Muscle training is a simple concept. To get muscle mass to build up, you need high intensity weight training, overload the muscle group, do this consistently, and have a good nutrition plan with plenty of necessary calories. To get a well defined set of six pack abs that are thick and dense you must train them with intensity and overload. You would expect that your six pack abs pops out prominently so that everyone will know they are there. When you do your training, make sure that you train your abs first. Some experts feel that doing abdominal training makes you tired and therefore weakens your overall training. However, if your focus is to build up your six pack abs, then doing the exercises first mean that you can bring the most focus and energy to them. Remember that intensity and overload are keys to building muscle mass. So if you can bring the greatest amount of focus and energy, you can get the maximum results. Another key to building your six pack abs is consistency. Choose either high intensity workout and less frequency, or lower intensity workouts with more frequency. Over-working your muscle group will not help. A sensible approach is the best way. To build muscle density and get well defined six pack abs, you should opt for a high intensity ab workout, and do it less frequently. Many people are not aware that there are actually three sub-groups that you must train in order to have a well defined set of abs. You have the upper abs, the lower abs and the obliques. The full sit up exercise flexes the trunk and is targeting only the upper abs. That is why doing sit ups alone will not help create your six pack abs. You need to include leg raises, trunk rotation and hip exercises. If you are able to incorporate all of them into your regular program, you will see much better results in building your six pack abs.
