Slide 1: ==== ==== If you go hiking, camping or backpacking you will need a 2 person tent. For more info go to: http://www.2persontent.net/ ==== ==== Family tents allow the whole family to have an enjoyable holiday or long weekend out camping in the great outdoors. A large tent can house the whole family when you are out on the campsite, and everyone can stay together 'under canvas'. It is a truly wonderful bonding experience that allows everyone to stay together and have a good time. There are no limitations on how big family tents can be, except there might be practical limitations about size and so forth. Remember too that some campsites limit the size of their pitches and if your tent is too big you may find yourself having to pay for two. Some family tents can even fit extended families and most are relatively cheap, under Â500 new or even cheaper used. Great value for a family holiday! A standard height of between 7 and 10 feet, offering enough head room to stand up, and a floor space of between 10 and 12 feet is plenty for most families to fit comfortably in. Some even have removable room dividers to create separations between family members and afford some privacy. Most tents will specify the number of people that they expect to fit inside, the dimensions, cabin structure, fabric material, time to pitch and strike, and other features that make the family tent worth purchasing. There are major differences between 3 person tents right up to 12 person tents. The general rule of thumb is to get a tent with space for a few extra people because family members will want to have space for their possessions, sleeping bag, and camping materials, and buying a tent that can fit the precise number of people you have exactly can create problems that make for an uncomfortable camping trip for people inside if each person is not accommodated for entirely and within reason. Remember all the possible things that a person may need on a camping trip to make it enjoyable and comfortable, particularly if bad weather is encountered. Some manufacturers of tents include Coleman, Outwell, Gelert, Sunncamp, Khyam and Vango. Look out for different sizes specified by the number of persons accomodated, from 1 person tents right up to 12 person tents. Family tents are generally distinguished from smaller tents by being so much bigger than other littler tents that only have space for 5 people or less. Even if a 4-5 person tent could qualify as a family tent, only tents with more room than 6 people in two rooms generally qualify as family tents.
