The Appian solution was developed and deployed under budget and ahead of schedule. Solution design and initial deployment was completed in merely six weeks, and within four months ATS was fully rolled out across the agency. NOAA is a U.S. federal agency focused on the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere. NESDIS is dedicated to providing timely access to global environmental data from satellites and other sources to promote, protect, and enhance the nation's economy, security, environment, and quality of life. To fulfill its responsibilities, NESDIS acquires and manages the nation's operational environmental satellites, operates the NOAA National Data Centers, provides data and information services including Earth system monitoring, performs official assessments of the environment, and conducts related research. The Appian based ATS solution replaced email workflow processes that used a variety of systems to distribute, track, and monitor actions initiated from NOAA headquarters or from NESDIS executive offices.
