Slide 1: The Archiver for Notes is a native Notes, self-contained Archiving solution for Lotus Notes Mail, Custom Applications and IBM Quickr. The Archiver runs automatically, maintaining both itself and your production environment according to the options you specify (such as how to archive data, manage housekeeping and designs, or migrate native archives). It can even update it's own design, informing you of updates after installation. Profiles are used to control multiple databases, e.g. for a 'mail' directory or a Group, and allow granularity via a Profile Hierarchy. Profiles also automatically enable archiving for new databases matching their criteria (Mail Files, Quickr Rooms, Group members etc). The Archiver provides Archive Stubs (iNotes compatible) to make archiving virtually transparent to users. In addition, integrated Notes/Web search capabilities provide simultaneous full text searching across mail & archives, including locally and via iNotes. In fact, users don't even need to know their data is being archived at all. Multiple Archiving Criteria enable Administrators to remove duplicate emails, archive documents using extremely specific criteria, and maintain production databases at a predefined size. Archiving can optionally compress attachments, and is fully DAOS compatible. Archived data resides in Notes databases, meaning the Notes security and replication model can be used, and data is not stored in a proprietary information format (which may restrict your future options). Housekeeping options allow Administrators to rotate archives automatically, expiring and processing old archives as required, while Discovery Search can search thousands of databases at the same time, using field-level queries and providing result processing options (for example copying selected results to another database).
