Slide 1: ==== ==== Make Your Own Energy. Step-by-step guide reveals how to make your own energy for 100$ or less! http://ebsu.net/ProduceElectricity ==== ==== If you want to know the basics of building a homemade wind turbine then keep reading. It is actually not that difficult to make if you have a good instruction manual and some basic parts at home. So why build a homemade wind turbine? The answer is simple, because it is an easy and cost effective way to generate renewable energy and save on your electricity bill and you get to help the environment and save money...what a combination. The basics to focus on first of a homemade wind turbine are the blades. These are the most important design when it comes to creating a wind turbine that will work. You can easily make them out of wood, PVC piping, plastic, metal, anything really that can be made into a sturdy yet relatively light blade. Make more than you need in the beginning and play with different sizes until you are happy with the final result. The blades will attach to the rotor and the size of the rotor in comparison to the size of the blades will determine the efficiency of your homemade wind turbine. The best example to give is comparing it to a bike wheel. The lower the gear the harder it is to get a full rotation of the bike wheel however when you ride down a hill it is much easier. Therefore in comparison if you are in a high wind area make big turbine blades with a big rotor but in a low wind area maybe make the rotor a little smaller. The rotor can be made from the same materials as the blades. So finally you want your homemade wind turbine's rotor to generate renewable energy and that leads to a generator. You can use any small generator be it from an electrical appliance such as a washing machine or if you want to be smart an old fan. Did you know that if you spin the blades of an electrical fan you will cause electricity to be generated. So if you have your homemade wind turbine in a windy area you will definitely be able to successfully create your own electricity. This is always much easier if you have a manual to follow but it is up to you. Have a look at Homemade Windmills Renewable Energy if you would like more resources.
