Slide 1: ==== ==== Help with inflammatory arthritis. http://helpwithinflammatoryarthritis.com ==== ==== Inflammatory arthritis doesn't need to dictate your life. To break the mould, however, you do need to change your lifestyle. You probably won't ever get rid of your inflammatory arthritis but with practice, you will be able to manage and control it so that you can return to living your life again. Because there are over 100 different types of arthritis, this guide assumes you've already been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis. Diet and Nutritional Changes It doesn't require a huge overhaul of your diet to make the necessary changes to help your inflammatory arthritis condition. It is advisable however to keep as close to your optimum weight as possible because this helps reduce pain by alleviating stress on joints. How you go about this is to first of all find out what your optimum weight range is from your doctor. If you are actually underweight, you should eat more nutritional foods to help your body get the fuel it needs. If you are overweight, however, you have an easier job than you think. Losing weight is easier than putting weight on! You must still eat of course, but just more of foods that are low in fat and contain less empty calories. Examples of foods that are full of empty calories are alcoholic drinks, sodas and pop. Empty calories are calories that body takes in but are of no use to it nutritionally. Try and drink more water, which has no calories and is more nutritious for you. Regular Exercise Regular exercise is vital when you have inflammatory arthritis. Failure to exercise regularly will mean that your joints will lose what flexibility they still have. Keep your joints supple through regular exercise which also helps all other aspects of your body too. It's also worth noting that exercise doesn't mean you need to go to a gym or train for the Olympics. It can be something that requires muscle use but not overly exerting such as washing your car, doing the gardening, walking to the shops and back. These are all forms of exercise. Many people with inflammatory arthritis like to exercise with other sufferers because they get the added bonus of socialising. It is never a bad thing to keep your brain and social skills exercised as well as your joints. Socialising also helps boost self confidence and lower stress - both of which can contribute to illnesses, including inflammatory arthritis. Regular Check Ups It's not the most fun thing in the world to do but you really should make sure you get regular check ups from your doctor in order to manage your inflammatory arthritis. Check-ups can reveal whether or not you need more tests to be sure your condition isn't progressing or to monitor for
