Love songs must have been hummed even man had not started using words. A heart full of love sings by itself. The following love songs are all time favourites and have been sung by many singers at one time or another. Their popularity can be gauged from the fact that despite the passing years people young and old still know these songs. The words or lyrics to these songs make the difference in deciding upon the list. It is virtually asking for the impossible deciding from millions of songs and perhaps songs that have not even figured in the repertoire of the West. This song has the rare distinction of having advance orders of a million even before the disc was released. This happened when Elvis performed the song before the release of the movie on the Ed Sullivan show. The individual style of Elvis and the passion with which he sings it makes it an all time super love song. 3. Righteous Brothers – Unchained Melody The song was written for an obscure prison movie called Unchained and thus the reason for the name of the song. The music was composed by Alex North and the lyrics were written by Hy Zaret. It is remarkable how many great singers and groups have sung this song. The Righteous Brothers are usually credited as the singers of this great song which perhaps holds the record in that it has at least 500 versions sung by different people in different languages. The famous stars who have resung the song are Cyndi Lauper, U2, Leo Sayer, Elvis Presley, the band Heart, The Supremes and Ricky Nelson. 4. Stevie Wonder – I just called to say I love you The song was released in 1984. The song is written, produced and performed by Stevie Wonder. It has been an all time favorite love song and sold millions of copies. Stevie Wonder even sang it at a public event in honor of Michael Jackson after his death. It was first heard in the movie ‘Woman in Red.’ The song won a Grammy and a Golden Globe. 10. Dolly Parton – I Will Always Love You
