Slide 2: What is a Laptop? A laptop, which also can be called a laptop computer or notebook computer, is a portable computer that can be easily carried and folded open and closed. Open, it reveals a display monitor and a full-sized keyboard. Closed, it protects those components with a sturdy, protective, outside surface.
Slide 3: How do Laptops Work? POWER:  Laptops can be powered by   An external AC/DC adaptor (power cord). Battery power  Battery life can be 3 to 8 hours and makes it easy to work anywhere
Slide 4: How do Laptops Work? COMPONENTS:  Laptops are    Similar to desktops and perform the same functions Much smaller and designed to be carried Much lighter and sturdier than desktops  Keyboard and track pad or touchpad are built into the case  An external keyboard and mouse may be attached
Slide 5: How do Laptops Work? OPERATING SYSTEMS (OS) and SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS (APPS)  Laptops have:  The same OS and software as on desktops.  Windows-based (PC) laptops use:  Windows OS and Windows compatible applications Mac OS and Mac compatible applications  Apple (MAC) laptops use: 
