Slide 1: ==== ==== Check this site out if you want to learn more about photoshop action scripts: http://myinstantactionscriptssite.com ==== ==== Photoshop and Lightroom are both powerful tools used by most professional photographers. Each program has its strengths. However at times combining the features of each program can be a challenge. For example Photoshop allows for the creation of top notch actions. It also has the capability of running those actions in batch. Lightroom is a terrific program for selecting images. It also allows a photographer to, through lightroom, manually open up an image in Photoshop and apply a Photoshop action. The new image with all of the changes is then entered directly into the Lightroom Catalog; so far so good. The challenge arises when a photographer wants to run a Photoshop batch process on all of the images selected under the Lightroom system. Many photographers are not able to get this to work so they settle for a compromise. They export a copy of the images from Lightroom to a folder. They then run the Photoshop actions in batch. After the actions is complete they re-import the edited images into Lightroom. This method has some serious disadvantages. First, when the image is exported it is usually exported in a format that loses some quality each time the image is edited. Second, when the images are re-imported they are in no way associated with the original image. Third, you know have two folders of images instead of one folder that is organized through the Lightroom Catalog. ActiveWord solves this issue. By running and rerunning a script in ActiveWord that imitates the steps a photographer takes when he opens up an image manually in Photoshop through Lightroom and applies the action a photographer can edit multiple images at once, keep the new image in a PSD format (no loss of quality), and keep the image naming sequence so that the original image is stored next to the edited image. This technique has worked for me and has greatly increased the speed and organization of my workflow. The ActiveWord script that I used is as follows (with F7 key for activating the Photoshop action): e Vanessa and Stephen shoot portrait, senior, engagement, pet, wedding, and family photography session. They shoot most often in the OC, San Diego County, Los Angeles County, and Riverside County. Vanessa works as a OC Wedding Photographer who teaches classes to a number of Orange
