What most people fail to realize when they get into this industry is that there is defiantly a learning curve that comes along with any system that you initially try to work in. This is the case with any new business. That is essentially what you are doing when you first join a company as an affiliate; you are starting a business. The company will not take you by the hand to follow their footsteps. Just because the model is told or explained to you does not mean that you have an automatic guarantee of success. Unfortunately, this is the story that many people are sold. Don't get me wrong, that is all fine and dandy, but, only if the individual joining also understands that there is a level of understanding and effort that usually matches the "dream". This accompanying factor is not always completely expressed verbally, but yet through experience. While the foundational principles of a system might be the same across the board, each individual's experience is different because of this factor. Systems need to be successfully implemented, tested, and improved over time, and there are many factors that go into how each individual may use a particular system for his or her benefit. For example, one person might implement a system slightly different than another, while both achieving success. These are just some things to think about when you look at the failure rates. You need to realize that while the foundational principles and key implications that you are taught to adopt when entering a particular system are important, the other foundational factor needed is you. This is a crucial, yet overlooked factor that should be acknowledged when reaching for success in any business. In this industry, you can use the results of others as inspiration to your own goals, however, you should not make these results a benchmark for you, especially when entering a new business where there is a lot to learn. You need to first learn the company, then recognize how its entailments compare to your own personal capabilities and the current level you are at, and then create your own benchmarks from there. Many network marketing programs, for example, have a high learning curve, although it may be subliminal at first to the individual looking from the outside in. This is why I believe many fail too quickly. Although, the home-based industry is saturated, allowing room for some programs that are not worth anyone's time, it's not always the system, the product, or the service. It's the lack of preparedness, knowledge, and the fact that an individual may not have realized where their capabilities stood against the necessary effort needed to be put forth to "succeed."
Slide 2: So in essence, if more people knew and embraced this before they dove head first into ANY business, then maybe the rate of longevity and success would be higher. From a different perspective, the lower the learning curve with a business opportunity, the higher a retention rate may be as well.
