As you sit there, worrying about which bill to pay and which kid to blame for the mess in the kitchen, you probably wonder what people see in meditation. You may even wonder if its just a waste of time. Well, the answer is that it isn't a waste of time - if you know what you are doing. And learning about what to do right isn't that hard. So that's why you're reading this article, you need to figure out how to meditate - for those of us that are overwhelmed with life. So hang on here we go! Tip #1 Do a pre meditation meditation. This means that you need to prep yourself to meditate first. Take 10 minutes and a small notebook. Lets yourself think about everything that might interrupt your meditation session. Write every thought down and make a note of how and when you will handle that issue. For example, if you are worried about paying a bill, write it down with a note that you will pay the bill after your session. Its like a mini contract to take care of it later. Tip #2 Make your sessions short to begin with. Start out with 10-15 minute sessions. Its kind of like exercising, you can't run a marathon if you never even walk to the mail box! start out slowly at first until you get used to it. Also, you'll find that by doing tip #1, you'll have a much easier time focusing on yourself. After you've done short session, you can experiment with slowly little by little increasing the length until you've got it to where you want it. Tip #3 Meditate daily. The key to success is regularity. Meditate everyday no matter what. Don't you think that even a dummy deserves 10 minutes a day? If you can't give that to yourself, there is a major problem in your life. 10 minutes isn't much, so make yourself a priority. I challenge you to follow my meditation tips for a full 2 weeks and notice the tremendous improvement that you feel both mentally and physically. You'll notice that you enjoy it more and it gets easier and easier. You started meditating for a reason, and with a little help, I know it will become something that you can't live without. Its addicting, really! Enjoy your meditation!
