Slide 2: What is sickle cell?  is a serious disease in which the body makes sickle-shaped red blood cells. “Sickle-shaped” means that the red blood cells are shaped like a "C."

Slide 5: Facts More than 70,000 Americans have sickle cell anemia.  2 million Americans — 1 in 12 African Americans — have sickle cell trait.  Its also a blood disorder that has a strong hold over hemoglobin. 
Slide 6: Teens with sickle cell?  Teens with sickle cell may develop a jaundice condition. which also means that it may also cause your whites of you r eye and your skin to turn yellowish.
