What is your management style 2. What motivation techniques will best fit your style In order to discover your management style you need to know how they are categorized: 1 Autocratic 2 Paternalistic 3 Democratic 4 Laissez-faire Lets look at each in more depth, without making any judgments as to which work best, as this is outside the scope of this article: 1. The Autocratic leader This is the person who forces his opinion and wants on others and makes people work through intimidation and fear. 2. The Paternalistic leader These people also fall within the dictatorial realm, but makes decisions based on the best interests of the employees. 3. The democratic leader In the case of the democratic leader as the name implies, he puts everything to a vote and majority rule. 4. The Laissez-faire The Laissez-faire manager allows employees to mostly make their own decisions and manage their own areas of the business. Looking at each management style lets look at how each could best motivate employees. The theory is based on the fact that a more balanced approach tends to get the best in people. Lets look at each manager individually and learn how to motivate employees depending on your management style

The autocratic manager would get better performance out of his people if he bring in a level of democracy allowing employees to feel that they are also participating in the decision making process. 2. The Paternalistic leader should bring in a level of Laissez-faire attitude into his management style. Allowing people some space in deciding which courses of action are best for their own circumstance and for the company. 3. The democratic leader should look at asserting himself more becoming a little autocratic, allowing employees to feel a little more secure in knowing that there is someone in charge. 4. The Laissez-faire leader gets more out of his people when he becomes a little more organized and puts systems in place where the decision making process is managed by a system rather than everyone for themselves.
