Slide 9: More events building deen and character in the Muslim youth. More great speakers like Imam Siraj Wahhaj More extensive service to the community to provide da’wah and make us culturally competent Distribution of Why Islam literature in places that afford the opportunity (i.e. high school MSAs, soup kitchen) Donating to charitable organizations and making joint efforts with such organizations
Slide 10: A series starting pre-Ramadan (Saturday, August 26th) And ending post-Ramadan (Saturday, October 11th) We intend to have this every other week throughout those dates and Try to understand: What can I change about myself to bring me closer to my Rabb? …AND MAINTAIN THAT CHANGE! (whether it’s kicking an old habit or starting a new one) Insha’Allah we will have goal-setting workshops and work developing a positive change from there through discussions every other week.
Slide 11: During the weeks that we will not be having Ramadan Reflections insha’Allah we will be serving our local community. Going back to Elijah’s Promise with sandwiches made OR serving food there to the homeless. Possibly visiting an assisted living home (TBA) Participating with other Muslims in Humanitarian Day (…and possibly donating food and clothes for the Humanitarian Day event too!)
Slide 12: Football/Volleyball/Basketball tournaments Particapting in the Islamic Games Event Participating in Al-Maghrib classes (carpooling, Discussions of coursework/study sessions, financial aid?) And much much more…. A magnet with these dates is distributed, and if you are on our mailing list you will receive reminders for upcoming events!
