What was an innocent mistake is now broadcast for the rest of eternity. It would behoove society to take stalk of its actions. New ways of communication are being invented every day. Images are transported from devise to devise at the speed of light, and continue to exist long after they have been deleted. Just as movies, episodes from television, or books can be delivered to anyone for a fee, so can the lives of individuals. There are those that sell personal information to get money. They may be hacking at this very moment. Whether legally or illegally, access is available that didn't exist in the past. Employers may check social web sites to see what potential employees may, or may not, be doing. It would behoove the job seeker to check and see what others are viewing, even though it is considered to be private. It is necessary to be careful with communications devises, identity is precious commodity and the reputation can be tainted. Immorality is no longer happening just behind closed doors.
