Slide 1: ==== ==== Tired of liberals twisting the truth? Check out the #1 conservative blog on the net: http://conservativelyspeaking.us ==== ==== As an entrepreneur who started out with a bucket of water and a sponge, and built up a small business, which I eventually franchised, I have always wondered how come some large corporations are able to lobby their politicians to create regulations which prevented my company from competing with them. Now don't get me wrong because we were small and agile, and because we were a franchised company with many small franchisees as our team, we were able to compete just fine. However, it does seem rather upsetting that some companies are able to get the juice, tax breaks, and all the rules and regulations they like past to provide barriers of entry for their competitors. The way I see it is this, many folks go to Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, and Yale business schools. The education is excellent, but more importantly the types of people they meet give them the edge. Many of these graduates in the MBA program grow up and run Fortune 500 companies. If you think about it they've had the best schooling, they have the best opportunity, they've made the most friends in the right places, and then the government still gives them the advantage? Why is that, I'd like to know, because they already have the advantage. And if these youngsters who grow up and run these Fortune 500 companies are so great at what they do, and if they are so wickedly smart, then they really don't need a leg up from the government to compete with small businesses. Rather, it is small businesses which deserve the advantage, but they don't seem to get it. If the small businesses had the advantage, which I believe they inherently do, and if we were truly in a free market capitalist economy, there would be a level playing field and everyone would have to compete based on their own merits, choices, investments, customer service, prices, and smart business strategy and marketing. It seems obvious to me that we have a number of people who think the current system is fair and righteous, but it's not, it is highly unfair when you stop and look at it. Now then, I am not complaining, because I know what I'm good at, and I can compete against anyone, in any market, in any industry, and I am undeterred by anyone with an Ivy League degree, it just doesn't matter. I know our company will come out on top always because we are the most competitive, smartest, and most dynamic team in the market. It's just that I wish everyone else wouldn't cheat, and I wish our government would keep the playing field level, and not participate in crony capitalism. If we ever want our economy firing on all eight cylinders again, we need to be thinking about what I just explained to you here today in this article. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
