Unfortunately, both the products AND the business opportunity are mixed together on this site, which can be a real turn-off to potential product customers. There is a corporate contact on the menu options, but no other web site engagement mechanisms, such as Twitter, Facebook or an email newsletter invitation. While there are some interesting 'representative success stories', there is not a search feature to locate distributors (at least not that is evident). There is also not an obvious way to become an FHTM representative...so I guess it's back to the 'contact' form if you are curious about the business and wanting to locate a distributor in your area. If your prospect is looking for an online corporate brochure, then this fits the bill. However, you're going to need to follow up quickly with your prospect to fill in the blanks for them. It's a stretch to think that this type of site will immediately convince someone to part with $299 (or more) to start their new business online.

There is no mention of customization options, autoresponders or multiple landing pages. Unfortunately, this type of corporate brochure site is far too common with network marketing companies and it places their distributors at a disadvantage online. Consumers now have come to expect engaging videos and audio on web sites. They also have an extremely short attention span--a few seconds at most-and will hit the back button quickly if they don't find the site attractive or easy to navigate. If you are serious about building a new MLM business, and you want to use the Internet to do so, you are going to need cutting edge marketing systems and tools that include video elements and appealing lead capture (squeeze) pages. It notes that a company's size, business volume and number of customer transactions can have a direct impact on the number of complaints filed. In the past 36 months there have been 39 complaints received for this company. In the last 12 months, the total has been 16. This number of complaints is actually quite small considering the number of FHTM representatives. In December of 2009, the North Dakota Attorney General's office moved against the company for alleged violations of the consumer fraud law, the transient merchant law, the North Dakota Schemes Act and the Solicitation Sales Law. Approximately 30 days later, on January 19, 2010, FHTM worked out an assurance of voluntary compliance with the North Dakota Atty. Gen.'s office. It's important to note that there was no proven violation of the law nor was there an admission of guilt for any marketing and solicitation practices by Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. FHTM, as a result of the voluntary agreement, is no longer barred from doing business in the state of North Dakota. Is Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing a Pyramid Scheme or Scam? No, FHTM does not fit the traditional definition of a pyramid scheme. Real products and services are being sold to consumers through the network of Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing representatives. However, since reps are independent, it is not known at any given time whether or not certain outlandish income claims are being made.
