Slide 5: Evaluation Design & Theory
Eclectic-Mixed Methods-Pragmatic Paradigm Stake’s Responsive Evaluation Model Summative Evaluation – to measure the effectiveness and outcome of an e-learning module which is already running.
– Effectiveness Evaluation – to determine whether Application, Skills and Confidence Levels sufficient to facilitate higher learning.
Slide 6: Participants & Instrumentation
Questionnaires to garner responses from:
– students past and present – course facilitators
Observation of students Interviews – Programme Management Staff
– – – – Student Support Adviser Programme Leader Area Manager Course Assessor
Slide 7: Limitations
Small Sample size due to:
– Inability to contact sufficient past students resulting in small sample size – Availability of suitable students for observation
Short Timeline:
– Inability to follow up alumni students – Unable to access larger cross section of students
Slide 8: Anticipated Decisions
Evaluation will identify pre-conceived ideas or usability problems with online learning through Unit 5942 Focus of improvement: Introduction of more online learning modules Coaching Sessions prior to commencement of unit Evaluation questionnaires incorporated into learning material to measure effectiveness
