This is often called the "starvation response" When your body goes into the "starvation response" the following occurs: Your metabolism, and fat burning, slows as an adjustment to the lower amount of food being consumed is made by your body. Your body releases fewer fat burning enzymes. This is the opposite of what you would want to happen. You lose muscle tissue, as your body needs to find energy. Appetite hormones get out of whack and you can no longer fight of your desire for energy with willpower. This can cause binge eating. In the long run you will re-gain the weight you initially lost through an increased appetite. You will also have lost lean muscle and decreased your body's metabolism. Â How should you burn the fat? The best solution is to create a customized eating plan that consists of lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats.
