Slide 1: ==== ==== For more great agility exercise ideas, check out www.agilityexercises.org ==== ==== For any sport in the world, it really pays to be an agile and fast person. In football, a person needs to be agile to play a good game, and everyone knows that speed and agility play an important part in the game. Anyone can better their agility with performing various drills such as zig zags, knee kicks, small sided games etc. Most people believe that agility exercises are much like speed training exercises. This is a huge misconception since the two are in no way similar. These exercises mostly have a lot more lateral movement. This is why tennis players and basketball players are incredibly agile. They need to be quick to move from side to side in order to get the ball or dodge another player. The same goes with football. Before performing exercises that make you agile, it is best to get a thorough warm up. While performing these exercises ensure that they are done correctly. The right posture, speed and consistency is required to get the best effect from them. Here are a Few drills which help increase agility: Figure Runs: These require you to run through a set course according to a figure diagram. Cones are used to mark the figures which are set in various sizes. It is best to vary the height of each figure to make the drill more effective. Lateral Sprint: Place two cones apart from each other creating in a straight line. Another additional cone is to be place to the right of the second cone. Here the player is supposed to run in a straight line and side step to the third cone. This is to be repeated several times. Side stepping through a circular lap: This common exercise is really helpful. The player is required to side step the curved part of the lap and sprint through the straight stretch. Using equipment: Using equipment like agility ladders is probably the most effective. This kind of training equipment is specially designed to bring out the best in a player. You can also find other equipment such as speed hurdles, weight belts, ankle weights, wrist weights and weight vests. A ten feet agility ladder

It is better to go online since you get a better variety and you can compare prices as well. Also there are online stores that have discounts on many items. Remember, agility training requires concentration in order to get the best effect. Whether you are performing drills or using equipment, you need to perform the exercise right.
