Once a foreclosure notice or notice of default is published or recorded, a borrower will be inundated with offers to “help” Many “foreclosure prevention” companies charge several months mortgage payments to “negotiate” with your lender when you can receive the same services from a HUD-approved housing counseling agency for free Never sign over title to your property or other legal document purported to stop foreclosure without first seeking legal help to review the document
