Visceral fat is the deep fat you you cannot see that wraps itself around your organs, and produces hormones and other substances that can affect your health. This fat is right next to and in between your organs resting in your abdominal cavity. So if you have fat next to your liver fat drains into it causing a fatty liver which puts you at risk to type 2 diabetes as you become insulin resistant. Belly fat is also associated with cancers and heart disease. In order to lose belly fat you have to address your diet. Which means you have to look at your calorie intake so avoiding foods that are low grade carbohydrates like fried foods, crisps, candies refined and processed foods will help you get rid of belly fat. Avoid all refined foods and switch to whole grains. Scientific studies have shown that people who eat whole grains lost more belly fat than other people on the same diet but eat refined foods. They had five servings of fruits, vegetables, three servings of low fat dairy and two servings of lean quality protein like meat, fish or poultry. A diet of this nature is very healthy and and you can avoid other ailments like bowel cancer. Whole foods changes the glucose and insulin responses in your body that actually hastens the melting of fat. The good thing is visceral fat is easier to burn off than the subcutaneous fat that lies
