Slide 1: A personal timeline of educational technology
Slide 2: My name is Jovell Pineda. I started pre-school in 1991 or 1992 in Buenavista, Mexico, Pampanga, Philippines. It was not held in a regular school but at the village’s church. When I moved into Kindergarten, they moved us into the village’s public school. As far as I can remember, we did not use any technology but books because of financial issues. I graduated from Kalani High School in 2005 in Hawaii. I first went to college at University of Hawaii, Manoa in 2005. When I finish my degree, I hope to enroll in the Masters program that will enable me to teach Math or Social Studies in secondary schools. I plan to stay in Hawaii to teach, but I also want to experience teaching in my home country, the Philippines, to gain knowledge of the similarity and differences their curriculum has from the United States.

When I was in Kindergarten we did not use any form of technology since our school was a poverty placed public school. Funding was limited and there was very few resources. The school lacked books and basic materials for the students. Educational television, elmo, or computers were not available for the school’s students throughout their Elementary life.
Slide 6:
My high school had a lot of technology available for us to learn. There was the classroom television for Social Study, Science, or English for us to watch an educational video. We had computers in the library to use whenever we need to do any form of research or to type our homework. Kalani High School had a lot of technology for us to use to advance our knowledge or to improve our projects and skills. Most of the computers that were available were Macs.
Slide 7:
I took a lot of classes that required me to own a computer, which was perfect because I had a desktop at home. It was difficult to do other assignments in school without a laptop, therefore in my sophomore year my dad bought me my first laptop. I took ICS and it taught me a lot of features about Microsoft Office 2003. I took the 2007 edition when I took that class, so it became more challenging. I think the 2007 edition is pretty awesome and way better than the 1997-2003 edition. Other technologies that was used a lot in most of my classes was the projector. 95% of my professors taught us with the projector and overhead. When I entered the education program, laptops were required. However, my Toshiba laptop was heavy so I ended up buying a netbook from HP. Which is so much more convenient because it only weighs 2lbs and it gets the work done. When I enter the Master’s program, I vow to buy an iMac pro because of its awesome technological advances.

A girl joined myspace in 2005. Her page was plain and everything can be seen. She was jealous of other people’s pages that were all unique and was designed with the things that expressed who they are. That girl was very jealous and asked her friends for help. They just told her about a “code” and she was still lost of what that was. Until months of having a plain page, she finally figured out what “codes” are and how to convert her page into her personal myspace. She also figured out how to hide certain information.
