Slide 1: Gigamon ROI Analysis Over $2.7M Saved by Major ISP Data Access Networking for VoIP and Lawful Intercept Customer The Worlds largest ISP offering VoIP services. Status ISP is deploying VoIP services and must implement QoS monitoring tools to insure the network performance meets high standard of quality and execute lawful intercept. Problem VoIP QoS distributed probe plan is cost prohibitive because too many probes are required. VoIP phone calls involve many sub protocols which comprise of many different servers and hosts. There is no singular place to plug probes in. SPAN ports at the core miss many local transactions. The data must be collected at various points on the network. In total, 36 probes are needed totaling 2.8 million dollars. GigaVUE + TAP solution The TAP links directly to the network to avoid SPAN ports. Aggregate packets from the TAPs recreate the calls and reduce the number of probes to one resulting in a significant savings to our customer with a more robust solution.
