Free delivery - Offering free delivery as a standard option will increase your conversion. Targeted marketing - You should be where your market is. This means that if you're selling washing machines your PPC should be focused on terms like "washing machines", "Bosch washing machines". If you really need to maximise ROI then just focus on product codes. After all the people who are searching for "washing machines" don't really know what they want - but the people who search for "black WMD962 Bolton" know exactly what they want and are ready to buy. 3. Streamline everything - The longer the chain the more chance it will break. Make the buying cycle on your site as short as possible and remove any extraneous pages. Go through your site and be totally brutal - do you really need a 5 page checkout? Could you get away with 3 pages? Or even 1? Remember that every page removed decreases your overall attrition rate and provides a better customer journey. This principle should also be applied on page - how easy is it to find critical information, is it obvious what to do next, how many distractions are there on page?. 4. Next day delivery - Next day delivery makes life easier and if you want to do anything for a customer it's make their life easy. There is a slew of the consuming population that crave convenience and these are also the people who will be most easily convinced to buy from you. On a similar vein delivery seven days a week can have some impact - especially if you are the only company in your market to deliver on Sunday. 5. Get rank 1 - Between 30% and 40% of searchers click on the top search term. The more sites they look at or have looked at before they come to you the more chance there is that they will decide to shop elsewhere. You should be aiming to get ranked in position 1 on the SERPs anyway but once you make it watch your conversion rocket. Everyone who is ready to buy (the quick wins) will be buying from you.
