If you want to make money online, one of the first things you need to do is build a website. It does sound daunting for the beginner but the process to create your first website isn't as frightening as you think. Let me show you create a website from scratch. I know it sounds daunting, but if you learn step by step you can create your first website. Remember you still need a web site if you want to make money online. So, here are some steps that you'll need to get started. 1. Domain Name The first step is to choose a domain name for your site. You can get one of these from a domain registrar like GoDaddy. You can buy a domain name that is really cheap which lasts for a minimum of one year. You'll want something that is fairly short and catchy which represents your product. 2. Hosting So that your site can be seen on the internet, you will need it to be hosted. This is a monthly charge (inexpensive) which is basically rental space on the internet. You want to find a reliable hosting company that offers good customer support. Don't be tempted to just find the cheapest. 3. Creating webpage There are two options on how you can achieve this. If you are a bit nervous about HTML you can use a site builder which your web host can provide. Essentially they are web templates and you just enter away your content, before you know it you have a site on the internet. The alternative is to use a WYSIWYG web editor like Kompozer or Dreamweaver. Unless you fancy forking out $400 and wanting all the bells and whistles, I'd choose Kompozer. The great thing with Kompozer is that it is open source and is free, plus very easy to use. It is like using a word processor and you don't even have to know HTML, it does it for you! However, just understanding the basics of HTML helps. Follow these steps and you'll have an online business. Once you've learned how to build a website, you will be able to do it again and again.
