Slide 1: Should you pursue African women on Afroromance? “If you are looking for an African lady, watchout, 99.9% of the Africans are cons - based on my experience anyway.” That was something I read when looking for people’s reviews of Afroromance on the net. 99%? Really? How did this person come up with the figure? Good thing he finished the statement with “based on my experience anyway”. Well, that is one man’s point of view. This is how this one individual feels about all African women. But does this mean it’s true? We all know there are internet cons online. Does this mean we call off all our efforts of finding love because of a few individuals? I am married to an African woman. I am not being biased because I have an African wife, but just to be fair, internet cons can come from any part of the world… I have read about lots of U.S. internet dating rip-offs . So when on Afroromance or other online dating sites, pursuing African women or anyone (regardless of gender or nationality), use your common sense and exercise caution! It’s that plain and simple. Much as Africans (esp from Nigeria and Ghana) and Russian women are known to be dishonest in the online world, in my search for love, I realized not all are… and definitely not 99% of the ones I met on Afroromance were out to rip me off. I must admit I did encounter some fishy individuals; women who were too good to be true… women who were too quick to unleash their financial problems on me like I was the IMF or something. Anyone can encounter such individuals. But this doesn’t mean everyone is guilty… And I don’t think every African woman on an online dating site is guilty of such behavior too. Based on my experience, everyone needs to be cautious when dating online. When you suspect any member you are in contact with, just report them to the site administrators and they will investigate. Plus I never sent money to anyone who asked for it. And that way , I got to weed out those women who were only looking to make a quick buck. We all tend to get blinded while searching for love… and these cons can smell desperation even oceans away. Afroromance is a good site and has credible African women… HOWEVER! Take control of your own online security. Never send money to anyone no matter what. That simple rule helped me weed out all the fishy and untrustworthy women (or men pretending to be women) I met online and here I am … happily married to my true African queen.
