Slide 1: The Conscious, Preconscious , and Unconscious
Slide 2: Each of Freud’s mind theories play a part in the everyday roles of life. Each section has its own role on how the mind functions, thinks, and stores memory. According to Freud we use each area of the mind without even recognizing it is being used.
Slide 3: The conscious The conscious mind is where all of the thoughts are currently taking place. This is where actions, such as walking, writing, and all voluntary actions are all things that you are aware of in the conscious part of the mind. The conscious mind is similar to short term memory.
Slide 4: The preconsciouS The preconscious is the part of the mind where past events are stored. You may be aware of the preconscious while doing something that arouses a memory from the past to your conscious mind. These memories are coming out of the preconscious part of the mind. This is very similar to long term memory.
Slide 5: The unconscious part of the mind is what we are never aware of in our conscious state of mind. Freud believed that this is where all of the “unorganized” dreams take place. The Unconscious “indifferent” “impersonal”
