Slide 1: ==== ==== For a free video on the permier plyometric system on the market check out: http://www.plyometrics1.com/ ==== ==== Most athletes undergo plyometric training to enhance their speed and power, boost their agility and coordination, and improve their total sports performance. Although helpful, plyometric exercises can be risky. That is why these should be executed properly to avoid injuries. Plyometric Examples Plyometric activities use specialized and intense training methods to enhance athletic skills, speed, and strength. Plyometric exercises will make your muscles contract and raise your stretch reflex before the muscle contraction. The usual plyometric exercises are bounding movements, hops, and jumps. One famous plyometric training is jumping off the box, and then rebounding off the floor to go to a higher box. These activities will increase your strength and speed, and will definitely build your power. Plyometrics, Safe or Not? Professionals in exercise science have different opinions regarding plyometrics. But most of them agree that this training is perfectly safe if done properly. The American College of Sports Medicine stated that plyometric training is beneficial, fun, and safe for adolescents and adults only if executed properly. The American Council on Fitness and National Strength and Conditioning Association also recommends plyometric exercises, though they stated that it must be done properly, with guidance from exercise experts. Even without experts, always remember that a safe landing technique is the most vital part of an effective and safe plyometric training program. This means that you must softly land on your toes and roll to your heels. Use your whole foot when landing on a large smooth area to lessen the impact to your joints. You can also evade any twisting or knee motions to the side for a safe landing. For safer plyometric training, please follow these tips: Your leg must be strong before you perform plyometrics. Plyometrics must only be executed by conditioned athletes. Warm-up before you begin with plyometric exercise session. Gradually begin your session with small jumps until you're fired up. Have enough rest between plyometric activities. Give full focus to possible injury hazards.
Slide 2: Ensure that your footwear has good cushion. Execute plyometrics only on cushioned or soft surfaces. It may be true that you can enhance your power and speed without the help of plyometrics. But if you're an athlete, and your sport requires jumping and landing, then you can add plyometric exercises to your training schedule. Use plyometric training to enhance your power and speed but don't forget to eat and live healthily, too. Ask for a professional medical advice before you undergo plyometrics or better yet, have a reliable guide to teach you.
