Slide 6: NORTH SHORE CITY COUNCIL AND FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ “FoundationFootprint™ is an excellent product. At the click of a button I can see the energy usage and carbon footprint of any single set of traffic lights, bus station, library or even a whole business unit. And I have information for as far back as we have data for, more than three years in some cases. We currently track energy, gas, fuel and some of our suppliers’ emissions and are in the process of putting in our water and waste. “And the Universal Bill Manager has dramatically simplified our process of approving hundreds of utility bills every month and has in itself provided the return on our investment in FoundationFootprint™. It's highlighting any invoice discrepancies from our suppliers and allows us to compare each month’s usage with as much historic data as we have. With the graphs and tables of data we can gauge the trends of each of our 450 sites and take action to reduce resource usage starting with the heaviest users first. “We have all kinds of business intelligence and reports that are automatically generated on demand and the FoundationFootprint™ team are adding new features and reports every month. And their support team are really helpful and responsive and always ask us for our feedback. “We’re really happy we chose FoundationFootprint™.” Michael Field Sustainability Manager Manager of Corporate Sustainability, Procurement and Fleet Management Group North Shore City Council September 2009 Page6 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 7: FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ RETURN ON INVESTMENT CASE STUDY North Shore City Council saved $291,440 in the first nine months of using FoundationFootprint™. FoundationFootprint™ provides a number of different ways to realise a far reaching return on your investment (ROI). Cost Savings - FoundationFootprint™ gives unprecedented visibility of current and historic utility invoices in the form of graphical and textual business intelligence. By combining this with automated tariff checking and reporting of “spikes” or “troughs” in invoicing, significant refunds can be realised through the highlighting of invoicing errors, corrections on previously unchallenged accounts and tariffs, unusual usage levels and concentrating on reducing resource usage beginning with the highest users first. Time Savings - With the Universal Bill Manager, considerable time savings are realised through the automation of checking invoices for correct pricing, unusual usage levels, providing an automated historic audit trail as well as notes entered by staff, enabling a web based approvals process and integrating with the customers financial systems. Raising Awareness Through Better Information - FoundationFootprint™ puts quality information into the hands of staff that are familiar with the sites and meter locations. By providing the ability to give feedback and challenge line items on invoices each month, staff can identify unusual usage levels as well as inactive sites that are still being invoiced by the supplier. Tracking Cleantech and Greentech Investments - The Return on Investment (ROI) Project Manager allows customers to conclusively track the return on investment of a clean tech or energy efficiency projects such as LED street lighting for a city council or fuel efficiency technologies in an organisations fleet. The Numbers North Shore City Council began using FoundationFootprint™ in September 2008 and put in 3 years of historic information Refunds from errors in invoices $221,166 Refunds from identifying inactive sites, some for as long as 4 years ago $16,624 Potential savings from identifying unusually high usage levels at Takapuna Aquatic Centre (see appendix) assuming this would have continued to be missed for another 4 months $28,000 Savings from reduced time to check, approve and manage hundreds of invoices (Estimates from North Shore City Council situation), 75 hours a month since September 2008 – 675 hours x $38 per hour $25,650 Total savings from electricity accounts in first 9 months of using FoundationFootprint™ Page7 $291,440 www.foundationfootprint.com

Slide 12: FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ NEXT STEPS On signing up to FoundationFootprint™ what are the typical next steps for your organisation? Step 1 – Locate Your Information Following an initial planning meeting with your project team, we then assist your staff in locating the necessary information within your organisation. This includes 1. Identifying your business units, cost centres, facilities, branches and assets. These make up your “organisational and operational boundaries” and will be the points you will collate data on Identify the resources you wish to track within your established boundaries – The electricity, gas, fuel and other resources used throughout your organisation Collating the documentation and files that contain the figures regarding the quantity of resources you’ve used. E.g. Supplier invoices, delivery notes and data held in IT systems 2. 3. Step 2 – Data Migration We then undertake a three step data migration process to import your data into FoundationFootprint™. • • • We create your organisational structure in FoundationFootprint™ We then enter the resources (electricity, gas, fuel, water) used in each area of your organisation The final step is to import the usage data for each type of resource. You can choose to put as much or as little historic information in to FoundationFootprint™ as you desire. For example, 12 months, 3 years or just start with your current financial or calendar year. Step 3 – Configure FoundationFootprint™ Page12 Once all your data is in FoundationFootprint™ we will then configure the software to your preferences and create user accounts, roles and permissions. www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 13: Step 4 – Configure the Universal Bill Manager (UBM) The UBM is a fast and efficient way of approving hundreds of invoices each month thus acting as a very efficient way of getting large amounts of data into FoundationFootprint™ on a regular basis. If you have opted to use the UBM we will then configure the system to receive electronic invoices from your utility suppliers such as electricity, gas, fuel and water. Step 5 – Training and Support Each month, as you receive invoices from suppliers, your staff will need to enter this information either through secure web pages or automatically through the Universal Bill Manager or a combination of both. So following the initial set up of FoundationFootprint™ we will provide one or more 3 hour workshops with your staff to bring them up to speed with using FoundationFootprint™ going forward. The workshop will also cover using the online help system, online training videos and the helpdesk. They will also have the opportunity to join our Lighthouse Program. This enables them to participate in the evolution of our products and services by submitting comments, ideas and general feedback directly to our engineering team. How long does it take? The length of time it takes to get through the first four steps of the above process is dependent on several factors: 1. 2. 3. the availability of your staff when initially gathering the original data the quality of your data - gaps or even duplications in your data can slow down the process the quantity of data – the more historic information you wish to import the more data cleansing and validating is required and therefore the longer the task Typically though, for a business with one to four branches wanting three years of historic data importing, the first four steps of the process may take two or three days. A city or a large business with hundreds of domestic and overseas facilities can take anywhere between 10 days and 2 months. The final step of the process depends on you. If using the Universal Business Manager we suggest a workshop just before your monthly invoice cycle begins followed by a second workshop towards the end of the invoice cycle. Page13 Rest assured that throughout the process, and going forward, we will always be on hand to assist you. www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 14: FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ PRICING FOUNDATIONfootprint™ FoundationFootprint™ is based on a regular monthly, quarterly or annual subscription fee instead of a large one off upfront fee such as with traditional software. Slide 15: FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE The High Cost of Traditional On-Premise Software High costs and return on Investments (ROI) are top of mind concerns for organisations, both large and small. With traditional "on-premise" enterprise software, organisations experience greater upfront and hidden costs during implementation. Unforeseen hardware requirements, maintenance, upgrades and support fees add up quickly. Organisations managing on-premise enterprise software burn over 75% of their total IT budgets on simply maintaining their current enterprise software infrastructure. The FoundationFootprint™ Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model eliminates these factors altogether. FoundationFootprint™ is Software as a Service (SaaS) What is SaaS? Unlike traditional enterprise software delivery models, FoundationFootprint™ is a recurring subscription based model hosted by us and delivered on-demand. SaaS requires no hardware purchases, software installations, network setup, or ongoing system upgrades and patches. All you need is a web browser to access the application online. With this model, start up fees and times are greatly reduced, helping you realise the value of our solution more quickly. Since we are a subscription-based business, we have to earn your business each and every year so we share aligned incentives to fulfill, and where possible exceed your requirements. Why SaaS? Transparency and lower Total Cost of Ownership There are no hidden costs or fees with SaaS. You don’t have to purchase hardware or invest in any infrastructure. Rapid deployment By eliminating the upfront work required to setup hardware and install software, you can reduce your time to "golive" and start driving value more quickly. Reduced administrative burden Since we manage all network maintenance and upgrades on an ongoing basis, your IT staff are free to work on your organisation’s most strategic initiatives. Faster Innovation Since all customers leverage the same code base, we can easily deliver new features every month at no additional cost to you. Advanced security FoundationFootprint™ uses 128bit 3DES encrypted SSL (HTTPS) secure connections and our servers are located in world class data centres. Configuration not customisation Our highly configurable application provides a tailored solution without customising the code. Get the benefits of customisation but avoid the costs of deploying and maintaining custom code. Page15 www.foundationfootprint.com

Authorized staff are able to access and manage their own business rules as required. Every individual entry will be able to be classified by the user at a level of confidentiality. Records can be masked so that they can only be viewed by staff within the specific service or only by the current user. This process will override role-based access security In addition to system security, enhanced Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities are a key benefit of the software as a Service model. Central hosting on behalf of all of the participating sites provides the capacity for cost effective hosting in a robust, secure facility. In addition it provides a basis for alternate hosting arrangements capable of ensuring continuity during business or technical based interruptions to service. ARCHITECTURE FoundationFootprint™ requires a user name and password to be entered when a user accesses it, and also after a timeout period. The FoundationFootprint™ application uses Active Directory to maintain user credentials, however given Active Directory’s native LDAP capabilities, NDS would be used as the master user directory service. Although FoundationFootprint™ can be delivered in just a web browser an email client is desirable for notifications and scheduled items. These items are generated in a standard format so would present in GroupWise, Outlook or other common client. Compatible browsers include IE5.5+ (Win), Safari 1.x (Mac), Mozilla 1+ (All Platforms), Firefox 0.7+ (All Platforms), Netscape 6+ (All Platforms), Opera 7+ (All Platforms). TECHNOLOGY STACK Page18 The FoundationFootprint™ technology stack uses Microsoft tools and technologies, leveraging from their seamless integration, robustness and reliability to improve the overall quality of the product. USER INTERFACE www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 19: The user interface uses a mix of ASP.NET 2.0 Web Forms and Microsoft Office 2003 upwards. This range of technologies ensures the best and most secure end user experience at any given scenario. MIDDLEWARE The elements created for the middle layers are using .NET Framework 2.0 and leverage from the latest Microsoft Enterprise Library components – written specifically to get the most out of the .NET Frameworks new and improved features. Those technologies - together with the best practices in programming techniques – will guarantee a robust foundation for the product. DATABASE FoundationFootprint™ uses SQL Server 2005 as its data repository. Native integration with .NET Framework 2.0 and engine improvements made in SQL Server 2005 will guarantee that the back end keeps up with the fast paced scenarios that the solution must cope with. INTEGRATION AND MESSAGING The messaging and integration engine, FoundationConnect™, uses Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, Microsoft’s leading Integration Server offering many different methods of securely integrating with other systems. Customers can choose a simple process of exchanging data import and export files via email to begin with and then later progress to a more real time and fully automated process at a later date. And we can expose and consume functionality via web services so FoundationFootprint™ will always be compatible with 3rd party enterprise systems and other SaaS based applications. DEPLOYMENT Software as a service (SaaS, typically pronounced 'Sass') is a model of software deployment where an application is hosted as a service provided to customers across the Internet. By eliminating the need to install and run the application on the customer's own computer, SaaS alleviates the customer's burden of software maintenance, ongoing operation, and support. Using SaaS also can reduce the up-front expense of software purchases, through less costly, on-demand pricing. From the software vendor's standpoint, SaaS has the attraction of providing stronger protection of its intellectual property and establishing an ongoing revenue stream. The SaaS software vendor may host the application on its own web servers, or this function may be handled by a third-party application service provider (ASP). This way, end users may reduce their investment on server hardware too. Some larger customers may wish to host the application on-premise due to security policy or other factors. Slide 20: ROADMAP OF THE FOUNDATION SUITE OF PRODUCTS Product Description FOUNDATIONfootprint™ The core Revolution ID product, FoundationFootprint™ is a web based carbon footprint and resource management system that enables customers to take a snapshot or continuous, real time approach to carbon footprint management. The software is based on the internationally accepted GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and ISO 14064 and optionally integrates with Microsoft Office for ease of use. FoundationFootprint™ Enterprise Version is aimed at large multinational, industrial and public sector organizations. It includes the Universal Bill Manager (UBM) which provides large customers an efficient way of getting data in from hundreds of utility bills every month. This is achieved by providing an electronic invoice approvals process for managers and integrating with financial systems to migrate the approved invoices. This very time and resource efficient process alone can provide an ROI for the customer. FoundationFootprint™ will also be available in small business and consumer versions. Structured so that a single instance can be used by thousands of customers at the same time whilst keeping each one separate, FoundationFootprint™ small business and consumer versions will be ideal as a carbon footprint reporting platform for government organizations and industry associations. Additional services for the SME and consumer version includes dynamically created advice on sustainable business and life style practices based on the customers’ usage data, marketing messages from the licensor and / or third parties, appropriate news feeds and a variety of social networking features. 1 May 2008 – Enterprise version released to market Q2 2010 – First Industry Sector Module release (E.g. Forestry, agriculture, liquid fuels, stationary combustion) Q4 2010 – SME and consumer Beta release Page20 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 21: FOUNDATIONproject™ FoundationProject™ will give customers the ability to track their GHG mitigation projects in line with ISO 14064:2 and the GHG Protocol for Project Accounting standards. Customers will be able to track and report their mitigation projects over time with the same target driven approach as with FoundationFootprint™. Q4 2010 – Beta release Q1 2011 – Release to market FOUNDATIONexchange™ FoundationExchange™ is a trading system for the exchange of carbon credits and provides visibility of the supply, demand and exchange of carbon credits between buyers, sellers and registries. FoundationExchange™ allows for the vetting of both buyers, suppliers and the carbon credits themselves should they come from brokers. This enables buyers to be selective of the kinds of projects the carbon credits are generated from. And suppliers of carbon credits can choose who to sell their carbon credits to. This will enable both a general trading type of exchange as well as a bidding style of trading of credits from preferred sources. Should the users of FoundationExchange™ also be users of FoundationFootprint™ or FoundationProject™, buyers and sellers can choose to give full visibility of their current supply and demand levels as well as their future requirements. This allows for the forecasting of supply and demand on an industry, regional and category basis for both business and regulatory purposes. FoundationProject™ customers will also be able to make project information automatically available through the FoundationExchange™ to enhance buyer confidence in the source of the credits. FoundationExchange™ will allow for the integration of multiple carbon credit registries, financial trading systems and other emission trading systems to allow for the exchange and visibility of carbon credits across different regional emission trading systems. FoundationExchange™ will reduce the current complexity of carbon trading in order to bring the task into the realms of every day businesses. Q3 2010 – Beta release Page21 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 22: FOUNDATIONsupplychain™ FoundationSupplyChain™ enables customers to track the emissions embodied in their supply chain and the lifetime of their products (cradle to grave, cradle to cradle etc). Customers are able to securely click, connect and share emissions information with their partner’s on-demand. Customers can invite other companies to connect and opt in to share their data through FoundationSupplyChain™. Revolution ID is a member of GHG Protocol Technical Advisory Group for their upcoming Product and Supply Chain standards. We will be “road testing” the draft standard in 2010. FoundationSupplyChain™ will ultimately be based on this new standard when it is officially released in late 2010. 1 September 2008 – Base functionality released Q1 2010 – Beta functionality Based on GHG Protocol (Draft) Q4 2010 – Release to market Based on GHG Protocol (Final) FOUNDATIONconnection™ FoundationConnect™ is an integration, work flow and business rule engine and provides connectivity between the different FoundationFootprint™ components, a customers financial and ERP systems and their trading partners. 1 August 2008 – Base functionality released. Slide 23: APPENDIX - FOUNDATIONFOOTPRINT™ REPORT SCREENSHOTS North Shore City Council has kindly permitted us to use their actual data in the reports below. Resource Usage Facility Report (Natural Gas) The Resource Usage Facility Report is available for every facility, asset and individual meter in an organsation. It provides graphical and tabular data for every kind of resource (E.g. Electricity, gas, fuel, water, raw materials, etc) for as much historic data that is provided by the customer which in some cases can be 5 years. This particular report is showing the natural gas usage for an aquatic centre in Auckland, New Zealand. You can see a significant increase in the usage of gas beginning in May. In this particular case it was the result of faulty maintenance. The situation was only highlighted once FoundationFootprint™ was introduced (in September) and both current and historic data was put in the system. The savings from this one facility alone (out of 450 total facilities) was greater than the monthly FoundationFootprint™ subscription fees. Page23 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 24: Resource Usage Business Unit Report (Electricity) The Resource Usage Business Unit Report is particularly useful for identifying the main users of resources (E.g. electricity, gas, fuel, waste or water) within your organisation. This highlights the key parts of the business to concentrate on first to make the largest savings. When reporting at the organisation level this report shows the resource usage for all the business units within the organisation. When reporting at a business unit level it shows the same data but for all the individual sites within the selected business unit. It also highlights the top five business units within the group or the top five facilities within the business unit and highlights what proportion of the total resources they consume. Graphically, the top nine are represented including percentages and a tabular list of details for all units or facilities is provided. Page24 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 25: Invoice Report / Universal Bill Manager Hundreds of electronic invoices can be automatically fed into the Universal Bill Manager each month. Approval and Sign Off managers are notified by email or SMS each day if there are invoices that they are responsible for approving. Procurement and accounts payable staff are kept up to date automatically by email as to the progress of the approval process for each supplier and invoices are imported into client accounts payable and financial systems automatically. Business intelligence, audit trails, staff notes and years of historic invoices are available at the click of a button for each individual account. These are presented in graphical and tabular form so that any anomalies can be easily identified, sometimes from years in the past allowing for significant refunds to be claimed. Page25 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 26: Carbon Footprint Summary Report The carbon footprint summary report is available for every business unit, facility and asset as well as the organisation as a whole and individual suppliers. Updated in real time, it shows the breakdown of emissions by “scope” for the last 12 months both totalled as well as monthly. Page26 www.foundationfootprint.com
Slide 27: Return on Investment Project Manager The Return On Investment Project Manager allows a customer to conclusively track the savings achieved through a resource reduction initiative. By choosing the actual facilities within FoundationFootprint™ that are participating in the project, the system calculates the last 12 months expenditure. The customer can then put a range of expected savings and the cost of the project to get an estimated time to realise the return on their investment. FoundationFootprint™ then lists the historic invoices for the last year versus the new invoices as they arrive each month from the utility supplier. By displaying the historic, actual and targeted resource usage side by side, the true effectiveness and return on investment of the project can be conclusively tracked.
