Product Details The ASUS G51J is one of the newest notebooks from the Republic of Gaming(ROG) Notebook line. Powered by Intel’s i7-720QM Core i7 processor and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card, the ASUS G51 offers users a completely new class of physical gaming interaction for a more realistic and dynamic experience. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M also features 1GB GDDR3 VRAM, which performs significantly better than the standard DDR2 video memory. With a 3DMark score of 10,000+ the performance of the ASUS G51 is a leap from the other 15-Inch mainstream notebooks that produce scores ranging from 2000 to 3000. The G51 also supports 3D gaming surround audio in the form of EAX Advanced HD 4.0 audio technology. This technology detects in-game environments and actions to provide corresponding 3D sound effects. It can provide up to an additional 64 sound effects from the sound library, producing ultrarealistic spatial effects in more than 300 supported games. Equipped with an illuminating chiclet keyboard, the G51J enables gamers to control the brightness of the keyboard to cater to their needs. This provides gamers with an added advantage over their opponents, and allows them to continue to dominate even in the dark, like that of LAN party environments. The G51J also features Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Operating System. ASUS notebooks come with ASUS’ 360 service program that includes a 2 year global warranty, one month zero bright dot guaranty, free two-way shipping and twenty-four hour tech support seven days a week. Plus it comes with a FREE One Year Accidental Damage Warranty protecting the notebook from drops, fire, spills and surges. The package contains 2 year warranty card, notebook, gaming backpack, and gaming mouse. Customer Reviews Please Don't buy Asus G51j-A1, Jan 06 ,2010 Talal Jasim Alammar (Kuwait) This might be late but it's only because 3/4 of the owners of this machine have been trying to fix the problem it has. This notebook WILL crash (Blue screen of Death) during game play. If you don't believe me please search the net for (G51J BSOD) and see what you get, basically the first hit is for a forum of us trying to solve the issue. Asus has been quiet ever since people started reporting the problem. Also please keep in mind, that this model has been OFFICIALLY LISTED AS DISCONTINUED BY THE MANUFACTURE, the last time Asus had an issue with one of their Notebooks (W90) they discontinued that model and left the ones that already purchased that notebook in the dark. The same thing looks like it's going to happen again. Readers understand this is not a single, random, or limited to me only event. Not only will you find countless people online with the same problem, but my best friend has the same notebook and has the same problem as well. Again PLEASE don't buy this notebook! I had to give one star because I can't give none Great looks. Powerful performance. Just right size., Dec 26 ,2009 Paulmeister (Dallas, USA) Combined with a Logitech V450 Nano wireless mouse (not included), this laptop meets my lofty criteria for a computer in every way except that it is just not quite able to fit into my Lowepro SlingShot 350 AW. It's a pity, but at least it comes with it's own nifty laptop backpack, which I did not expect and was a great bonus. I feel that having the 1920x1080 screen, Core i7 processor, and 260M graphics card was more than worth the trade in size. This thing delivers desktop performance with a Windows Experience rating of 5.9, 64-bit Windows 7, and 4GB of RAM. Other things to love about this laptop versus your typical laptop... You get a dedicated keypad, just like with a full-size keyboard, which to me is fantastic. The keyboard itself has a great feel that is about as close to a standard keyboard in both size, feel, and response as I have ever seen and experienced with a laptop. The keys are flat and have a nice matte texture. I have been to the stores and seen those glossy keyboards ... I wanted to stay far away from those. The touchpad also works just fine. The slider area for scrolling works great, and for a nice touch (haha) it is set so that if you take your finger off it while in motion, it continues the motion, scrolling to the end of the page (top or bottom) or until you tap the pad to stop. If you ever experienced dragging your finger repeatedly over and over to try and scroll through a long document or page, this cuts all that effort down to a single flick and maybe a tap to stop mid-way. There are four USB ports (2 per side), which feels generous. It is styled as a gaming laptop, so it might draw some attention for the fancy logo and running lights... For a laptop of this size, spec, and price point, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything better. excelent nuy, Dec 20 ,2009 G. Gastelum (cheeseville wi) This laptop is cream of the crop, quality of build, components and style. There is only one downfall to this laptop and it is only because of the hardware power this laptop puts out. What else can you do when your have a gtx 260 and and icore processor, the battery is always gonna suck. Did buy the 9 cell battery for this laptop at a steal online and now i get a combined 5-6 hours on both batteries if needed! Great laptop, plays counterstike source at 200fps, modern warfare II runs like a
Slide 2: champ, and crysis can actually be maxed out and runs very smooth, very suprised for a laptop of this price, when an alienware is double for changing lights and 2 more pounds of weight. Overall great gaming laptop, you wont be dissappointed Click here more Details...
