Slide 1: ==== ==== For more buttermilk biscuit recipes please visit: http://tinyurl.com/buttermilkbiscuitrecipes ==== ==== Whenever you are in the mood for some great tasting food you might start to think about some of the other types of foods and beverages you can make to serve with them. Whether you cook each day for your family or you occasionally pull out the BBQ grill to entertain your friends and neighbors, you want all the foods you serve to be mouthwatering, tempting, and delicious. Let us say for instance that you are making a large pot full of your favorite beef stew or even some delicious Brunswick stew recipes, you need some type of bread to serve with it. Rather than serving crackers you can use one of these two delicious homemade biscuit recipes. You might like to make these cheesy garlic biscuits or some old fashioned colonial biscuits. It just really all depends on the type of table and atmosphere you are trying to set. Of course, you can also make different types of biscuits if you like. You might also like to make some of these homemade breads to serve with other types of meals. Recipe for Cheesy Garlic Biscuits What You Need 2 cups biscuit baking mix 2/3 cup milk ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese ½ cup melted butter or margarine ¼ teaspoon garlic salt How to Make It Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a large mixing bowl you will add the biscuit baking mix, milk and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well to combine. Beat for about 30 seconds while forming a soft ball of dough. Drop balls of dough onto an un-greased baking sheet or cookie sheet. Place in the preheated oven to bake for about 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Mix together the butter or margarine and the garlic salt. Brush this mixture onto the biscuits after removing them from the hot oven. Allow to cool for several minutes before serving. Slide 2: What You Need 1 cup flour 2 Tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 3 Tablespoons vegetable shortening ½ cup buttermilk How to Make It Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt the shortening in a large heavy skillet and set aside until needed. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the vegetable shortening while using a fork to combine the mixture until it is crumbly in texture. While mixing with the fork you will stir in the buttermilk. Knead the dough lightly and then turn out onto a floured surface. Roll dough out to about ½ inch thickness. Cut out the biscuits while using a biscuit cutter or the open end of a serving glass. Arrange the biscuits in the prepared skillet and place in the preheated oven to bake for about 10 minutes. Turn the biscuits and cook on the opposite side until the biscuits are golden brown. This recipe will make about 6 large biscuits. When you are making some delicious Brunswick stew recipes or even a simple and easy beef stew recipe, you might like to try making these biscuits to go along with them.
