presentation at the eLearning Guild 2008 Annual Gathering
Second Life, and virtual worlds in general, are high on the hype curve this year. While it’s easy to point fingers at the well-known failed corporate attempts to use these environments, the sheer number of people actively involved, the time they spend in virtual worlds, and the intense nature of the experience suggest it has a place for e-Learning. Second Life is an easy target for shoot-from-the-hip media articles, and it’s proponents often come off as religious zealots. (less)

Conclusions
We appreciate that the success of the the "eLearning for Managers project" was due to the training the eTrainers and to the blended approach of the courses. The project team want to continue to deliver the online courses developed in the project on a regular basis, and to integrate them in a Master online program. Also we should mention a special interest of the managers trained in the project in implementing online training in their firms.
Thank you!
