The feature was supposed to be integrated in the earlier version but there were too many things to fix. Slide 2: Improved Controls and layout JavaFX 1.0 had only a single native UI control named Textbox which made it tough to develop a real business oriented application. The recent version has real UI controls which allow the users to create a common look across all applications and work on all devices and not just the desktop. It has new controls which support standard features such as progress indicators and the hyperlink. Additionally, JavaFX 1.2 has a new layout system that addresses major problems with the AWT layouts. Presence of Charts Charts are an important part of building business applications. Standard chart types such as pie, scatter, and bar charts have been built into JavaFX 1.2. These are user friendly and can be customized according to user requirements. JavaFX 1.2 also enables the users to create their own charts types just with a few lines of coding. Addition of New Support The Java codes for mobiles and desktops are different and have their own special API for persisting data. New support has been added to JavaFX common profile to conceal platform differences.
Slide 3: Speed Java FX 1.2 is quicker and better than its earlier versions in terms of startup time, memory usage, and graphics performance. Some tasks even show three times more improvement 1.0 and 1.1 versions. Down the line, the technology providers plan to consistently deliver smaller releases of JavaFX platform to sustain the quality of the platform.
