Slide 2: Hours  Starting 8:00 A.M. – 4:15 Questions  Call the Library P.M.  Must come straight into the library  Can leave when finished but must go to breakfast or outside  All school rules/dress code apply to the before library hours  Do not need a pass  Privilege can be suspended if you aren’t using the library appropriately 682.867.3600  Email me @ avandenb@aisd.net
Slide 3: How Many Books and Fines 7th Grade: Two books for 2 Weeks 8th Grade: Three books for 3 Weeks Fines are .10 per day per book when turned in late If a book is lost you must pay the cost of the book No food, drink, or gum in the library without permission!
Slide 4: How to Pay for Fines Cash Checks - Made out to Shackelford Jr. High must be the exact amount Full Payment Partial Payment Perk=.50 (fine only) Canned Good= .50 (fine only) You must sign a TAB Sheet after paying your fine if you pay with money!

Slide 6: Holds If you want a certain book that is checked out, you may put it on hold. To hold a book tell Miss Vandenbroek when you check out which book you would like to hold. When the book comes in, the library aides will check it out to you and deliver it to one of your classrooms. You can hold only two books at a time.
Slide 7: Magazines  Magazines are available to look at during your library time (after you have checked out your books)  If you look at the magazines in the library, please put them up before you leave. Please be respectful of others.
Slide 8: Check Out Problems Over Due/Lost Books 2. $5 Worth of Fines 3. Books Out From Another School 4. Too Many Books Checked Out Already 1.
Slide 9: Consequences for Improper Use of Computers or Library The library follows normal Shackelford Discipline policies Including office visits if necessary.
Slide 10: When Choosing a Book  Pick one that is interesting I promise there is a book for EVERYONE-if you need help please ask.  No shelf markers-if you aren’t sure where it went bring it to me.  Try pulling out the book to the right just a tiny bit so you will know where it goes if you don’t want to check it out.  Parent Approval?
Slide 11: Blue Chairs and Black Challenge Chairs Blue Reading Chairs  Sit in the chairs carefully (not rolling backwards because they will break and we can’t replace)  If you accidentally roll back roll out don’t force down.  You must read or you will be asked to leave the chairs Black Chairs (Librarian and Teacher choice of 3-4 people)  No fines  Checked out at least one book  Best behavior for that day
