The fear of failure can be a noose around the neck until we learn to not fear failing. We fear failure because we have not learned to appreciate our successes even our small successes. For example,my infant daughter when she was learning to walk she held onto a round coffee table and kept holding on as she went around and around the table. She did this time and time again, hold on,take some steps, fall, get back up and hold on, take some baby steps,fall, get back up,fall again until one day she got back up,held on to that table,took some steps and let go and stepped and stepped and stepped and now she was running and running and running so fast we could not keep up to catch her. Just her getting to that point in her development to stand and hold on to that table was a success. After that, to take baby steps around the table was another success. Then getting back up and striving to do this again after falling on her butt was also a success. Well, she did not know that she was failing because she did not even know what failure was. True,she had some encouraging parents and the right reinforcement and a supportive environment,however what is the lesson learned from that experience? The lesson learned from that story is once you start and stop or fall you get up and go and start again.
