Slide 1: How to Clean a Mattress with Frugal Living Friendly Cleaners Think about the amount of time you spend lying on your mattress. Now thing of all of the dust, dirt and other unmentionables that collect on and in your mattress over time. Taking a few minutes to maintain the life of your mattress is not only a wise move financially speaking, but it’s probably the healthiest move too. To keep your mattress dirt and dust mite free, just routinely vacuum both sides. Then, because accidents do happen, to remove any stains such as urine, vomit or perspiration, simply spray the spot—as soon as possible--with white vinegar then cover the stain with baking soda. Leave these frugal living friendly ingredients to work their magic for at least 25 minutes and then vacuum up the baking soda. If the stain hasn’t disappeared, repeat these steps. Remember, your chances of removing the stains are best if you tackle the spot as soon as possible and the best course of action is always prevention; investing a few dollars in a waterproof mattress cover will save you time and extend the life of your mattress. http://www.thriftculturenow.com
