Getting Your Spiritual Ducks in a Row "Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others and the delight in the recognition." George Bernard Shaw What do I mean by "Miracle Minded?" --Fearless, well-intentioned, innocent, invulnerable; listens for guidance, acts on loving impulses, even if they seem odd to the ego; trusting, willing to share, available, open, eager, ready to receive... Too much to ask? Hardly. You may not think you can live up to all that "goody-goody two shoes" stuff but you don't have to--just yet. You're developing a mindset here and it can take a while to change your (in some cases) lifelong habits that have kept you from seeing the incredible manifestations that are taking place around you all the time. So, I offer three more ways to create the mindset that experiences miracles day by day, moment by moment:
Observe your personal and collective worlds. Watch for opportunities that are waiting for your touch, for your assistance, for your love. Those opportunities are everywhere. Just look. Take the time to discover your true agenda. What might be hidden from yourself as well others? Can you expand your narrow focus? You can. So, do it. Now. Ask yourself this question: Does what I want contribute to the Higher Good? Is it motivated by compassion rather than just self-interest?
A reminder: You're going to be motivated by self-interest all the time. It's the way of things. Even reading this article is prompted by self-interest. A wise choice, though, is to look outside selfinterest now and then to see the bigger picture. Where can you add some positive flavor, some assistance that only you can offer? Again, you have the power to do so. So, do so. The benefits will surprise you. It isn't necessary to be harsh with yourself if you find a bit of selfishness within your activities in the world. It's only necessary to look at them, assess them, and decide how you might bring your own desires and goals into alignment with the Higher Purpose: service to the world.* The gift of the universe to you is more talent and ability than you can possible use in a single lifetime. Your gift to the universe is to develop those talents and abilities to the highest levels that
