Slide 2: The Tower of Hércules • The only ancient Roman lighthouse still in use. • It’s in the city of A Coruña, on a peninsula in Corunna Bay.
Slide 3: Hércules legend • Hercules killing the gyant Geryon after three days and three nights of battle. • After that, Hercules buries Geryon’s head with his weapons and orders to build a city. • That city is our actual city: Coruña

Slide 5: The Celtic king Breogán • He is the father of the Galician Celtic Nation. • Another legend says that he built a high tower to help his sons on their way to Ireland.

Slide 8: Inside the Tower • The Tower is almost 1.900 years old. • It’ s 57 metres high. • It’s got 200 stone steps. • The Tower is a lighthouse and send its light to the Atlantic Ocean.
Slide 9: The Coast of Death • The Tower is on the “Coast of Death” • The Romans believed that this coast was the end of th Earth so they called it “Finnisterrae” (End of Earth). • The name of the Coast of Death is ‘cause there are lots of shipwrecks.
