But what about the rest of us? Those that haven't found love yet and still single? Like many people on Valentine's day, I for one was single. I was single this year as I was last year. It's wasn't an ideal situation, but one I couldn't do anything about. The five or so years prior to that I was in one of two relationships, so last years February the 14th was hard. I was indoors alone most of the day, reading Facebook status of desperate single people trying not to air my sadness as well. I can imaging this time of the month is when a large amount of people will try and contact old flames or join dating websites, as if you haven't got someone you're made to feel very aware of it. Everyone will ask you what you're doing for Valentine's day, and tell you their plans and how wonderful it will be. So what's the solution, do you just lock yourself away for the day while all the couples are out enjoying themselves? I'd suggest not. One solution for single people on February the 14th was to meet up with fellow single friends and do something. It didn't have to be anything special, just as long as it keeps minds busy and is fun. If you already had plans for the day that was even better. So, the big day of love next year. Hopefully you would've found someone by then, but if not, don't feel sad. Instead of getting all depressed, why not think about how much money you've saved? One of my friends spent over two hundred pounds on a meal, a present and a hotel for the night this year.
