Slide 2: Advertising  What is advertising?  A type of communication that tries to persuade people to buy a product or use a service.
Slide 3: Advertising  Where have you see advertising?  Can you think of 10 places where you’ve seen adverts?
Slide 4: Advertising  Companies advertise a particular product or for brand recognition.  A brand is a name used to identify and distinguish a specific product, service, or business.
Slide 5: Global brands  Do you know what the biggest global brands are?  Can you guess the top 10?

Slide 7: Advertising Slogan  Many brands use advertising slogans to help promote their product.  An advertising slogan must be memorable and maybe will give a little information about the brand.

Slide 10: Sponsorship  Many companies sponsor sports events as a way to raise brand awareness.  Premiership football and Formula 1 motor racing are 2 popular sports that attract a lot of sponsorship.

Slide 13: Advertising  Your task today  Think about your favourite advert or advertising campaign.  Create a PowerPoint presentation to add to the website.
Slide 14: Advertising  In groups tell the rest of the class a little about:  The brand  History? Slogan? Mascot?  Where you saw the advert  Internet? TV? Global or local?  What products or services the advert is promoting  Why you liked the advert  Words, images and sounds used in the advert  Was the advert successful?  Include pictures and interesting facts about the advert
