When I was a little girl, growing up I remember my Mom always wearing her beautiful Red Lipstick. Let me take a few minutes to set the stage. My Mom was a house wife of the 1960s, which in current times is referred to as a stay at home Mom. Always busy with some household chore, whether it was cooking, laundry, or general house cleaning, she always managed to look her best. She was not one to use heavy makeup but, every morning like clock work she would be up and about making breakfast for us kids and sending us off to school always wearing her Red Lipstick. Most children (well that goes for me anyway) don't really notice if their Mom is beautiful because she is just plain old Mom. I was guilty of this but, again I always noticed her Red Lipstick. Years passed and before you know it you are in your teens. Everyone knows when you're a teenager you would never take makeup advice from your mom, of course not. You thought you were doing just fine on your own wearing eye makeup, yeah you ladies know the kind I'm talking about...that bright baby blue eye shadow with the thick eye liner and caked on mascara. What the heck were we thinking, I guess our choice of cosmetics were pretty tacky back then. So here you are all grown, an adult finally. You maybe go to college, start a career or perhaps get married and start a family. As time passes, the kids are growing up faster than you'd like...and maybe you just don't feel like making too much of an effort to look your best like you have in the past. Heck...your motto is if I'm at home, no one will see me anyway... right? Oh so wrong ladies! My Mom would always say that just because you think no one will see you it is still so important to feel good about yourself and if nothing else just a simple thing like wearing a little Red Lipstick made her feel good about herself and trust me, I'm sure my Dad felt just as good about it. Now stay with me on this one, it took me years...heck not till I was in my 30's to figure it out...My Mom was not only beautiful in her later years but, she was Knock Out Gorgeous as a young woman and Mother. She was right you know it is amazing how a little lipstick can say a lot... not to mention how happy your other half will be to see you looking like The Gorgeous Woman you are. After all this time, my lesson has been learned all from that little tube of Red Lipstick.
