Slide 1: Slow boot is a problem usually encountered when using computers. Is there any criterion to measure the boot speed? In fact, there is no uniform size. It would be a normal boot time if the computer can get online within two or three minutes. But if the boot time keep us waiting for more than ten minuses or longer to normal use, it is sure, the computer has problems. There are different reasons explaining the boot issue. Mainly are the following situations, with proposed solutions for reference: 1. Virus Problem: When the system is infected, it will result in slower speeds, and the boot-up will turn difficult. Some worm viruses distributed via E-mail, its impact to network speed is very serious, with significant harm. Particularly it’s evident in the performance of the LAN. The virus infected computers will keep sending e-mails out as long as the Internet is connected. The viruses select the user's personal computer random document attached to the user machine's address book on a random address for mails. Hundreds of spam mails lined up to be sent out, and some mails have been returned in droves to heap on the server, which cause significant congestion of backbone Internet, and slow the internet speed significantly. All of the users will feel bad if the LAN is near paralysis. And sometimes even the machines cannot boot-up: the virus starts with the system, and occupies system resources, making boot-up time longer. Solution: Install anti-virus software in the computer, and kill virus regularly. Some computer novices consider that it’ll be OK as long as anti-virus software installed on your computer, which is wrong, because new kinds of computer viruses will appear every day. if you do not upgrade the anti-virus software, it will not able to cope with the new kinds of viruses. And the software will be none of use to your computers if you do not kill virus regularly. Regularly update anti-virus software and kill viruses essential to boot-up computers. 2. Start Procedure Issue: It is a common sense that too much start program can seriously affect boot time. If the computer loads a lot of start projects, when the computer starts up, these projects will be run in the background one by one, then your computer can boot normally after they all run to completion, which would spend a lot of time. This is one of the main reasons for too long time boot-up. The solution is to delete these items from the registry. Method: Start → Run (type “msconfig” in the “Run”) →Left click “OK” →click “Start” in the dialog →In the dialog, there are a variety of projects to be started at boot time, you can , remove some startup items if necessary. Some services are necessary for Windows XP, such as text input, sound, network and other projects can not be closed. Otherwise it would cause serious trouble. 3. Desktop Problem:
Slide 2: Many guys like beautiful theme or wallpapers, but the beautiful papers showed at a price of consuming a lot of memory. It is the same if there are too many icons on the desktop. Because every time you start to display the desktop, the system will first check whether the subject is enabled, once found, it will load a lot of themes, then much RAM will be ate; at the same time, the system will search and verify the validity of the desktop shortcut, Therefore, the more shortcuts, the longer verification time will takes. Solution: Categorize the desktop shortcuts into a special folder for easy manage, and accelerate the boot at the same time! Right-click on the desktop → left click the top option: Arrange Icons in the dialog → left-click the bottom option: Run Desktop Cleanup Orientation→ Click “Next” → there are many shortcuts to start icons. Each icon represents a kind of software; make a hook in the box of that software you do not commonly use. → Click “Next” → Click “finish”. At the same time, it is proposed not to use the theme; only one piece of beautiful wallpaper is enough. 4. Computer garbage problem Computer system will produce garbage files when uses a long time, the perform speed is also affected. Clean registry and the garbage files with registry cleaners or optimization master are good tools to solve such problems. 5. Network Problems If your computer is use the LAN. Your machine will get affected if the other computer is infected with a virus; and it will be more serious if someone is doing any downloads. Sometime you may hardly hook up the network. 6. Computer Configuration Issues Computer upgrades fast. A few years ago, the computer configuration has a far cry from today's computer configuration. To date, if the computer configuration is good, the boot will be faster, and the internet speed is also fast; some of my friends are using a computer many years ago, the boot speed and network speed has never been able to solve because of the bad configuration. Among the systems, the RAM plays an important role. Small RAM causes slow boot, as well as slow network. One of the main solutions to solve the computer configuration issues is to upgrade the important drivers. For instance, if you like playing games, but your computer does not run smoothly, upgrading the video card drivers could be a good method to improve the situation, which at the same time, keep the computer work at high performance.
