There are several reasons why people resort to these less stressful and low risk exercises. They are the ones who have delicate health condition like pregnancy, obesity, and chronic problems. There are also those people who are required to do less stressful exercises because they have just recently incurred an injury or they are just starting out a workout regimen. These low impact exercises are as beneficial as their more strenuous counterparts. Most of these exercises are cardiovascular routines that should be done at least 30 minutes, three times a week. They are simple and convenient and yet very effective like fast-walking. Fast-walking is the low impact version of jogging and running. This is faster than a casual walk but your pace is much slower than a run. This can be very beneficial to your heart but without the wearing and tearing of your joints. Other low impact exercises include yoga, Pilates and other stretching-based programs. They are relatively slow but they can be very effective in enhancing your flexibility. Swimming is also recommended because it involves a lot of muscle groups. This is also very safe because the water can serve as a support to the body especially to pregnant women and injured people. There are also other low impact exercises but these types require the use of specialized equipment. One of the most popular types is the exercise bikes that can come in two forms: the upright form and the recumbent form. The exercise bike in an upright form looked like normal bicycle and you have to do it with a straight back while pedaling. The bike in a recumbent form will allow you to stretch while pedaling so that your back will not be strained too much. The elliptical trainers are also poplar low impact exercises equipment that is good for balance. This is because this machine looks like a combination of a stationary bike and treadmill. To use the equipment you will have to stand on a pair of pedals while you maneuver them around on a wheel. The third most popular low impact exercises equipment is the rowing machines. This machine functions like a rowing boat but in works in four different ways depending on your needs: they could be hydraulics, air, magnetism and water. You have two options when it comes to low impact exercises-you can either do it the natural way or with the use of equipment.
