If you are familiar with search engine marketing, article marketing, or just SEO marketing in general, it's very likely that you have heard of the term 'backlinks' or "back links", and what makes them so important in the quest to make your website rank higher in the search engine directories. For those of you who don't have a clue as to what back links are all about, and why they are so important, here's a quick overview of exactly what quality backlinks will do for you. When it comes to the major search engines, the number of backlinks, combined with the overall quality of the backlinks will ultimately determine your positioning within the search engines. For this site, our phrase along with a banner and url address to our site, would look something like this: "Free Quality Backlinks-Submit Yours Today" or "Submit Quality Backlinks". This phrase, when clicked, or read by the search engines, would then be associated with our web address and Google and other search engines see this as a roadmap to our site and put a ranking on each backlink. The more relevant each backlink is, the more power Google assigns to it. One of the easiest ways to go about getting massive amounts of backlinks is to hand submit to as many Free Backlink Directories, forum postings, leaving comments on blogs, writing articles and publishing on article sites, all while leaving a trail back to your own site, wherever you go. Once you achieve your rankings in Google, it does not mean that you can stop getting backlinks and remain in that position. You must change the content or add new content to your site and continue to get quality free backlinks forever.
