There is stress in almost every aspect of our lives. Many people are experiencing panic attacks, and thus, many are looking for panic help. There are two very different methods you can take when trying to find a cure for your panic or anxiety attacks. Most people will find it helpful to visit with their physician before making any decisions. Drugs Prescription anti-anxiety drugs have become a booming industry, pumping out new drugs by the hour. These drugs include: diazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam, and clonazepam. These drugs work fast and can be very effective. Anti-anxiety drugs may be beneficial to those who have exhausted all other efforts. While shown to effective, drugs of any kind should be avoided for health reasons. Drugs alter the chemical balance of the body. While some may benefit greatly, others will find themselves with a whole new laundry list of problems. Natural, Cognitive Methods The most powerful organ in the body is the brain. When I first began to suffer from panic attacks, I would constantly be worried about getting another one. I was afraid to leave the house. These fears were actually triggering new panic attacks. Cognitive methods include: reminding yourself to stay in the present, coping statements, and acceptance and acknowledgment. Remind yourself to stay in the present by not allowing 'what-if?' thoughts to invade your mind. Coping statements are designed to be mantra like chants, such as "This isn't comfortable, but I am capable of dealing with this." Acceptance and acknowledgment has a very powerful effect on the brain. By acknowledging your attack and even desiring it to come, you mentally won't be capable of an attack. The Final Word
Slide 2: It is important to chose what works best for you. However, I believe the best methods are preventative. There are ways to cure panic attacks. Medication is a not a permanent solution. If you take it away, you'll likely suffer more attacks. If you've had enough, and are ready to finally stop panic attacks once and for all, go here for panic help.
