Slide 1: Summary CV Some institutions will ask for a one page summary CV due to various reasons such as large number of applicants, easiness of reading etc. From this kind of CVs they expect to know only the highly relevant information related to the vacant position. Therefore you should mention strictly relevant details in such CVs while giving an impressive image to the recruiter. Further, one page summary CV would be ideal in situations you send a speculative request for a job. A brief and well organized cover letter could be accompanied with a CV if necessary. A good cover letter invites attention to the CV. When writing a summary CV include only the highly required personal details such as name, contact number etc. You can present your name in one line and other information; mailing address, contact number and e-mail in one line to save the space. When mentioning the educational qualifications, list the highest degree first and use tabular form to take the least space. When it comes to Experiences section, list them in reverse chronological order highlighting the once that matches with the one you are applying. You can also add other skills such as language skills, technical skills and IT skills etc. if only they are relevant for the post you apply for. In this type of CVs do not include things that you did from primary school to present. You will definitely have to make one or few drafts before making the final summary CV. In order to write this one page CV successfully, make a list of all the qualities and skills you possess on a separate sheet of paper. From that draw up a list of skills/ qualities that the job for which you are applying would need. Remember making it brief should not lessen the effectiveness or the quality of the CV. Do not use smaller size fonts below 10 in size. Pay attention to formatting and spacing Once you have completed the CV writing proofread it several times and your friend or someone else to proofread it for you. When you are to make one page CV do not wait till last moment for it as making of summary CV is relatively hard from making of normal CVs.
