Then the processing of the sound is achieved by running the tracks through a powerful and transparent equalizer which balances the track. Then the output is compressed and limited to make it sound more pleasing to the ears. A number of other simple tasks like properly sequencing the order of the tracks, crossfade editing and PQ coding are done in this stage of audio mastering. After the entire audio mastering is accomplished the 'mastering engineer' takes the final mix and 'sweetens' it by using his own skill and expertise. The final output sound depends directly on the competence of the mastering engineer since there are a great deal of personal tricks used by him. This is the main reason why audio mastering has something of a mystique surrounding it since there is no clear-cut rule to follow for the process. Audio mastering services are essential for any sound recording done on a professional scale with the goal of retailing. Mastering eliminates the minor flaws that occur during recording and reduces the noise considerably to give a final mix which is clear and pleasing to hear.
