Slide 1: ==== ==== FREE SHIPPING ON YOU FIRST 2 CANS OF OXYGEN click here http://tinyurl.com/7ks9vy4 ==== ==== The world is full of beginner triathletes simply because triathlon has become the fastest growing mainstream sport in the world. Six-year-old kids of steel, senior citizens over 70 and everyone in between are taking up the sport of triathlon. Triathlon training for the beginner triathlete can be hit or miss at the best of times. This is especially true if a new triathlete chooses not to seek out a qualified coach and goes it alone. The biggest mistakes most beginner triathletes tend to make normally involves over-training. This is completely understandable because many people are very passionate about their new-found sport and tend to over-do it. Training too hard too soon often results in injury and disappointment. There are several things that are important for beginner triathletes to keep in mind when it comes to their triathlon training. PROPER REST Proper rest cannot be stressed enough. Whether a triathlete is a beginner or seasoned pro, the body simply needs time to re-build and recover. Training day after day without proper rest is not better and soon becomes counter-productive. By incorporating regular rest into the training equation, the beginner triathlete will gain strength and endurance and will enjoy the training process all that much more. For the very beginner triathlete, at least two and possibly even three rest days per week is a sound guide-line to follow. Rest days do more good if they are spread out between your workout days as opposed to taking two or three rest days together and then training for four or five days in a row. It's always a good idea to take on of your rest days "after" a long work-out day. For example, if a long run is planned for a Sunday, then Monday would be a good rest day to take. SOUND DIET Regardless of the sport, many athletes train their hearts out and don't realize the full benefits of their training efforts because they have a poor diet. Learning the proper balance of carbohydrates, fats, and protein necessary to fuel the body for optimum performance makes perfect sense and allows the beginner triathlete to get the most out of their triathlon training. Even more important is to understand the difference between complex and simple carbohydrates and good and bad fat choices. For instance a chocolate bar is a simple carbohydrate and brown rice is a complex carbohydrate. Margarine is a poor fat choice and virgin olive oil and coconut oil are excellent choices. SUPPLEMENTS It can be helpful to learn a little about vitamin supplements and how they can help the body handle
Slide 2: the rigors of training and racing as well as speed the bodies recovery after it has been physically stressed. Even supplements as common and readily available as vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Selenium will help the body recover from the rigors of training and racing. Women triathletes should keep in mind that they may require an iron supplement as well. There are also more exotic over-the-counter supplements like Pantothenic Acid that has been used by long distance swimmers to overcome the effects of cold water swimming. L'Carnatine is available as an overthe-counter drug in the U.S. and by prescription in Canada and has the potential to speed weight loss and increase endurance. PROPER TECHNIQUE It is one thing to learn how to swim and bike and it's another thing completely to learn proper technique. For the sport of triathlon, a long, smooth, relaxed, front crawl stroke is one of the keys to getting the most out of the swim portion of the triathlon. In the bike the "spin" is the key and learning proper cycling technique as opposed to continually pushing big gears will make any triathlon run go much smoother. This can't be stressed enough when it comes to the longer halfironman and ironman distance races. Taking the time to have a sound plan in place when it comes to your training, diet, and recovery time will go a long way toward ensuring the beginner triathlete will get the most out of their triathlon training.
